Sounds: A1: 30.000 broiler chickens at 21 days old; 24.000 one minute old chicks; 40 free range hens; 1 chicken being killed for market; half a dozen eggs and a glass bowl. A2: The sewers beneath Fleet Street, London. A3: Various branded and bottled waters. B1: Celebrity-endorsed junk food. B2: 3255 people eating an apple. These are combined recordings made in Barcelona, London, Paris, Istanbul, Melbourne and Montreal plus 65 people individually crunching an apple on UK Apple Day. B3: One granule of silver spoon beet sugar being altered in state by Heston Blumenthal, Jocky and Matthew Herbert at the Fat Duck, Bray.
